Rebecca (Becca)
Owner
Animals have always had a special place in Rebecca's heart, so getting to spend her days caring for them is exactly where she's meant to be. She loves creating a safe, loving environment where pets can feel comfortable while their families are away, and she feels incredibly lucky to have a career she's truly passionate about.
At home, Rebecca shares life with a Newfoundland named Merlin, a big fluffy mixed-breed dog named Zeus, and a house full of very opinionated tuxedo cats. She also has an energetic eight-year-old son, Eli, who keeps life just as exciting as the pets do!
There are so many things Rebecca loves about Rustic Acres that it's hard to narrow them down. She treasures the lifelong friendships she's built with clients, appreciates working alongside an amazing team that treats every pet like family, and enjoys using her creativity to plan birthday parties, design holiday photo backdrops, and come up with fun enrichment activities. But above everything else, it's the animals that make Rustic Acres feel like home.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys swimming, shopping, makeup, music, karaoke, art, reading, dancing, tattoos, shoes, spicy food, and spending time with her family.
And just for fun, if Rebecca could be any dog breed, she'd be a Newfoundland—strong, lovable, and happiest when there's water nearby!
Cheryl
Pet Care Attendant
Cheryl loves working with animals because of the unconditional love and comfort they give. She finds being around them incredibly therapeutic and treasures the special bond they share with people.
When it comes to animals, Cheryl's home is full of them! She has four dogs—Sheba, an 11-year-old black Lab; Sully, a 5-year-old Mountain Cur mix; Rip, a 5-year-old Heeler/Catahoula mix; and Elsa, a 10-year-old Dorkie. She also has three cats—KC, Smudge, and Autumn—as well as Casper, a special tripod cat. Her animal family also includes two baby goats, Franny and Fiona, eight hens, three ducks, and a goose!
Cheryl says it's hard to pick just one favorite thing about working at Rustic Acres because she truly loves her job. One of the most rewarding moments is returning after being away and seeing the dogs remember her with excited, happy greetings.
Something many people don't know about Cheryl is that she used to fly airplanes and completed flight school. She also has a passion for rescuing baby raccoons and hopes to get into making goat milk products in the future.
Outside of work, Cheryl enjoys gardening, spending time with her pets, kids, and grandkids, crocheting, canning, baking, and making crafts. (She also admits one of the perks of grandparenting is getting to send the grandkids home after a fun day!)
Just for fun, if Cheryl could be any dog breed, she'd be either a Great Dane or a Rottweiler because they're big, strong, and fierce!
Rosalia (Rosa)
Pet Care Attendant
Rosalia loves working with animals because they never overlook kindness and have an incredible way of loving unconditionally. That special bond is what makes every day rewarding. Her favorite part of working at Rustic Acres is getting to know each family's furry companions and making sure they have a happy, comfortable stay while they're with us.
At home, Rosalia has three happy cats named Jesús, Nala, and Freddy, who keep life fun and full of personality. She also has a creative side and enjoys decorating and organizing spaces whenever she can.
When she's not at work, Rosalia loves spending quality time with her close friends and family and is always excited to learn something new.
And just for fun, if she could be any dog breed, she'd be a Pomeranian—hopefully one that gets to ride around in someone's purse all day!
Megan
Professional Pet Groomer
Megan loves working with animals because every one of them is unique. She enjoys learning how to read each animal's personality and body language so she can meet their individual needs. Getting to know each dog's fun quirks and watching their personalities shine is one of her favorite parts of the job.
At home, Megan has a full house of furry and feathered friends! Penny is her 8-year-old Labradoodle who loves snuggles and snacks, while Sadie is a 4-year-old Labrador who never turns down a game of fetch. She also has Thumper, a mini lop bunny, and four chickens that keep the family stocked with fresh eggs.
One of Megan's favorite things about working at Rustic Acres is getting to know puppies and having the opportunity to watch them grow up over the years. Outside of work, she enjoys making homemade sourdough, cooking and trying new recipes, spending time with her husband and kids, taking long walks in nature, and curling up with a good book.
Just for fun, if Megan could be any dog breed, she'd choose a Basset Hound because they know how to have fun—but even more importantly, they know how to get plenty of sleep!
Kayleigh
Pet Care Attendant
Kayleigh loves working with animals because every one of them has their own unique personality. Getting to know each pet and watching them become comfortable in a new environment is one of the most rewarding parts of her job. She especially loves seeing nervous pets settle in, relax, and realize they're safe and cared for.
Animals have always been a big part of Kayleigh's life. At home, she has quite the collection of pets, including ducks, birds, cats, fish, and dogs. She jokes that her home is a little like a zoo, but she wouldn't have it any other way!
One thing many people don't know about Kayleigh is that her love for animals doesn't end when she leaves work. She has six or more pets of her own and is caring for animals both on and off the clock.
When she's not at Rustic Acres, Kayleigh enjoys going for walks and catching up on some well-earned sleep.
And just for fun, if Kayleigh could be any dog breed, she'd choose a Belgian Malinois because they're loyal, observant, and adaptable. She says she's a little quiet at first, but once she's comfortable, she's all in!
Jody
Co-Owner
If you've spent any time at Rustic Acres, chances are you've met Jody. What she loves most about working with animals is how genuine they are. You never have to guess how they're feeling, they're always happy to see you, and somehow they always seem to know when you need a little extra love.
At home, Jody has a full house of pets. Rascal, her spunky Chiweenie, Delilah, her playful Mini Bernedoodle, and Ruby, a Chihuahua mix she's fostering, keep life interesting. She also has three rescue cats who found their way into her home—and into her heart.
The best part of working at Rustic Acres, according to Jody, is the people and the dogs. She's made lifelong friendships here and loves getting to know each family and watching their pups grow over the years.
Before finding her home at Rustic Acres, Jody had quite a variety of careers. She's been a cosmetologist, worked in banking, managed a humane society, and worked for a housing authority. Every job taught her something, but working with animals has always felt the most rewarding.
When she's not at the lodge, you'll usually find her traveling, hiking, listening to music, enjoying backyard staycations with her family, or cheering on her daughter at horse shows.
And if she could be any dog breed? Without a doubt, she'd be a Chihuahua—small, fun, a little sassy, and never afraid to speak up when she has something to say!
Ashley
Pet Care Technician
Ashley loves working with animals because of their kind and forgiving nature. She enjoys the unconditional love they give and appreciates the opportunity to care for them in a fun, positive environment. One of her favorite things about working at Rustic Acres is stepping away from the medical side of animal care and simply getting to spend time playing with and caring for the dogs.
At home, Ashley has a busy crew of six pets! Her family includes Ace, a Pit Bull mix; Bear, a Boston Terrier mix; and four cats—Tobias, Butter, Toothless, and Mimi—who all have their own unique personalities. Ashley also comes from a big family with five siblings.
When she's not at work, Ashley and her husband enjoy spending time together playing board games. And just for fun, if she could be any dog breed, she'd choose a Red Labrador because they're goofy, loud, and just a little bit abrasive—just like her!
Jalyn
Certified Dog Trainer
Jalyn loves working with animals because they make every day exciting and fun. Their unique personalities and the joy they bring make coming to work something she genuinely looks forward to. One of her favorite parts of Rustic Acres is the incredible team she works with. She says her coworkers and boss make the lodge a fun, welcoming, and joyful place to be.
At home, Jalyn has a German Shepherd named Malibu and two cats, Mocky and Ozzy. They are her pride and joy, and she says she wouldn't be herself without them.
When she's not at Rustic Acres, Jalyn's passion for dogs continues. She partners with another organization where she takes home a new dog every six weeks to train for future service work, helping prepare them to change someone's life. Outside of dog training, she also enjoys hunting and bow fishing, spending time goose, duck, deer, and turkey hunting.
And just for fun, if Jalyn could be any dog breed, she'd definitely be a German Shepherd. Their intelligence, loyalty, and versatility make them her absolute favorite breed!
Terry
Professional Pet Groomer
Terry loves working with animals because she gets to care for them and help them look and feel their best. Whether it's spending time with dogs or helping them leave looking fresh and happy, that's what she enjoys most.
At home, Terry has quite the crew! Kane, her 150-pound Cane Corso, may look intimidating, but he's really just a big baby at heart. Then there's Vinny, her French Bulldog, who's small, a little dramatic, and full of personality. She also has four goats—Bean, Butters, Biscuit, and Biscotti—who are always getting into something and keep her laughing every day. And if that wasn't enough, she also has chickens, making her home a lively place full of animals.
One of Terry's favorite things about working at Rustic Acres is the people she works with and getting to spend her days surrounded by dogs. She says it's hard to beat coming to work with great coworkers and wagging tails.
A fun fact about Terry? She's a twin and has a twin brother!
When she's not at the lodge, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking care of her animals, gardening, and relaxing in her pool.
If Terry could be any dog, she would be a golden retriever... friendly, loyal, and way too excited about snacks!!
Lillian (Lilly)
Professional Pet Groomer
Lilly loves working with animals because every pet has a unique personality. She enjoys getting to know each one, earning their trust, and helping them look and feel their best. Building that connection with each pet is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.
At home, Lilly has two dogs—a Black Labrador Retriever and an English Setter. Both are pheasant hunting dogs and love spending time outdoors doing what they were bred to do.
One of Lilly's favorite things about working at Rustic Acres is seeing happy dogs and happy clients. Knowing pets leave looking great and their families leave smiling makes every day worthwhile.
A fun fact about Lilly is that she'd love to start raising honey bees someday. It's a goal she's excited to make happen in the future.
When she's not at the lodge, Lilly enjoys spending quality time with her family.
If Lilly could be any dog breed, she'd choose a Basset Hound because they're calm, independent, and always seem to take life at their own pace.
Morgan
Pet Care Attendant
Morgan loves working with animals because every pet has a personality all their own. She enjoys getting to know each one and making sure they receive the best care possible. Knowing she can make a positive difference in their day is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.
At home, Morgan has two wonderful dogs. Muzzy is her 12-year-old Golden Retriever who has been by her side through so much of life, making him a truly special companion. She also has Mack, a 6-year-old Red Labrador who is the sweetest boy and always seems to know how to brighten her day.
Morgan's favorite part of working at Rustic Acres is the welcoming atmosphere. She loves being part of a team that makes both people and their pets feel at home, and she enjoys getting to know each pet's unique personality so she can provide the care they need.
One of Morgan's biggest dreams is to own a Bernese Mountain Dog someday and travel the world together. Until then, she enjoys reading, paddleboarding, writing, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
And just for fun, if Morgan could be any dog breed, she'd choose a Labrador Retriever because they're active, fun-loving, and still appreciate a good nap when the day is done!

Karissa
Day Care Attendant
Karissa loves working with animals because every pet has a personality all their own. She enjoys getting to know each dog's unique traits and watching those personalities shine. One of her favorite parts of working at Rustic Acres is building lasting relationships with both our clients and their pets and getting to watch them grow over the years.
At home, Karissa has two playful cats, Dotty and Dewy. Dotty loves playing fetch, while Dewy's favorite toys are anything with feathers! Outside of Rustic Acres, Karissa also works as a nail technician at Trends Salon & Spa in Beaver Dam.
When she's not working, Karissa enjoys spending time camping and expressing her creative side through arts and crafts. And just for fun, if she could be any dog breed, she'd choose a Saint Bernard—a gentle giant with a loving heart and a calm personality.
Melinda
Professional Pet Groomer
Melinda loves working with animals because no two are ever the same. She enjoys getting to know each pet's unique look, personality, and overall demeanor, making every day at Rustic Acres a new adventure.
At home, Melinda has two wonderful dogs. Tato, a Coonhound mix, is the biggest sweetheart and will happily be your best friend—especially if you have food! Morro is her Husky, affectionately nicknamed "Baby Wolf" because he's small for his breed and always ready for his next adventure.
One of Melinda's favorite things about working at Rustic Acres is the welcoming atmosphere. She loves that it's a low-stress environment where everyone is kind, supportive, and always willing to help each other.
Outside of work, Melinda enjoys singing karaoke and spending time with her boyfriend at race tracks. And just for fun, if she could be any dog breed, she'd be a Doodle because they get plenty of pampering while still being active and ready for fun—just like her!
Envy
Pet Care Attendant
Envy loves getting to know each animal's unique personality. One of her favorite parts of the job is watching nervous pets slowly come out of their shell and begin to trust the people caring for them. Whether it's discovering a dog's favorite toy, seeing them enjoy playtime, or simply watching them relax and snuggle on their cot, those moments make every day rewarding.
At home, Envy has a whole family of pets! She has a Collie named Kingston, a Springer Spaniel named Lady, and a Chihuahua named Bubbles. Her feline family includes Otis and Garth, two tabbies with white markings, a calico named Mac, and a domestic medium hair tabby named Atta. She also has a bunny named Bambi and a gecko named Spyro.
Envy's favorite part of working at Rustic Acres is getting to know all of the special animals she meets and builds a bond with. Seeing a nervous dog or cat become comfortable during their stay is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.
When she's not at the lodge, Envy enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing with her dogs, and painting. She also loves hiking and has backpacked through Badlands National Park. Next summer, she's looking forward to another backpacking adventure in Colorado.
And just for fun, if Envy could be any dog breed, she'd be a Beagle because she can relate to how talkative they are!
